Super Bowl Weekend

*I'm trying to do a better job of recapping everything that goes on in our lives and posting pictures...since that's why I started the blog and all!*

This weekend one of my oldest, best friends came to visit. I haven't seen her in sooo long! She had not even met our dogs or seen our house!
It was soo good to see her again! She came to town Friday night and we just hung out and watched The Big Bang Theory (our newest obsession!) for hours!. Saturday we went and did some shopping, but we didn't stay out for too long because it was COLD! Then Lee's best friend and his wife came Saturday night to spend the night then watch the Super Bowl with us Sunday night. When they got here we went to eat and we tried to go bowling, but they said the wait for a lane would be over an hour so we decided to come home and have game night.

We played Taboo and Apples to Apples. I love those games! Really I love most games like that. Here's a pic of the whole group:
Bruce Wayne got a little tired from all the game-playing:
Here's a pic of the girls (not sure why we're making that face...I think one of us did it on accident in an earlier picture and then we all decided to do it):
And here's Lee with his very best friend, the Silent Bob to his Jay:
Shannon left early Sunday afternoon and then we hung around some more (we were kinda lazy this weekend and it was WONDERFUL!), then a few more of our friends came over to watch the Super Bowl. I didn't take any pictures then...I'm working on trying to take more!! And if we're being honest, all the pics here are the ones Shannon posted on facebook. I did take pictures, I just haven't put them on the computer yet!

They're talking about snow for this weekend, so maybe I'll have some snow pictures to post soon!

Getting to Know You!

It's Sunday so it's time to play some Getting to Know You with Keely!

1. How many piercing's do you have?

Just one in each ear. I used to have my belly button pierced but it started getting on my nerves
2. I love the sound of.....?
Waves crashing at the beach...it's so peaceful!
3. Favorite city?
I love Nashville. I don't ever want to leave Alabama again, and I always tell Lee the only place I'd move out of Alabama would be the beach, but I could probably live in Nashville
4. Colts, Saints, or could care less?
I'm pulling for the Saints because one of my best friends in from the New Orleans area, but I do like Peyton Manning, so I'll be cool either way. Plus, I like the commercials more than anything anyway!
5. Frozen yogurt or ice cream?
Frozen yogurt right now I guess since I'm trying to lose weight. Plus, there's a new(ish) place that opened around here called Yogurt Mountain and I'm pretty sure that's what Heaven is. We went yesterday and I think we're going again today!
6. Favorite appetizer?
Calamari!
7. What item in your closet currently makes you the happiest?
My polka dot Alabama hoodie :) I love the Tide, plus it's really warm! Side story: I washed it for the first time last week (it's red and the BAMA part is white w/ red polka dots) and the red bled all over the white! So I used a bleach pen and it worked! Thank goodness! I was ready to buy a new one!!
8.Favorite facial moisturizer?
I'm using some kinda Neutrogena stuff right now

Vegas!

I'm FINALLY posting about our Vegas trip! We were there from January 11-15. Neither of us had ever been so we were really excited. We went with Lee's cousin and her husband. We had such a good time.
This is us on Fremont Street the first night.

They had a saxophone player and his name was Safe Sax. I thought it was funny :)

We went to the Coke store and got one of those Coke from around the world things...this was the Beverly...from Italy? I think? What can I say, Lee is a lucky man!

This was Lee's favorite hotel/casino, New York, New York. Next time we go (I talk like we'll be going back again soon!) we want to try to stay there or the Luxor.

And this is where we stayed, the Paris. (And a little bit of Planet Hollywood in the background on this next one)
Everybody told us there wouldn't be enough time to do everything we wanted to do...they weren't lying! We got to go see Penn & Teller, and that was a lot of fun. Our last night there we went to see the Beatles LOVE cirque du soleil show. It was really good, but I was so tired that night and my feet were killing me because I was stupid and wore heels. I want to go again when I feel better and can really enjoy the show!

It was such a fun trip, but I was ready to come home because I missed my doggies! I can't imagine what it's going to be like when we have children!

Well Said

I found this quote today on one of my new favorite blogs. It's from Conan's last episode of The Tonight Show. I didn't watch the show (I had every intention of watching, but I fell asleep and forgot to DVR it) but this is worth sharing:

"Please do not be cynical. I hate cynicism. For the record, it's my least favorite quality. It doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get, but if you work really hard, and you're kind, amazing things will happen. I'm telling you, amazing things will happen."

Well said, Conan. Life doesn't always turn out the way we think it will, or the way we think it should, but if we just keep working hard and treating people well, I think we'll all be okay.

Getting to Know You!

I haven't posted much (or at all this week) because I haven't been feeling very good. Stupid sinuses. Lee's been taking very good care of me though :) I thought before I take a nap I'd play a little "Getting to Know You" from Keely's blog again this week!

1. Waffles, pancakes or french toast?
It's so hard to choose! I love them all! I guess french toast though
2. Dream home..What would it look like?
A big house with a wraparound porch, or at least a big front porch. Kind of out in the country. (Not too far in the country though, I have to be pretty close to Target!)
3. Favorite sport to watch during the Winter Olympics?
All the skiing...I wish I could ski!
4. The first word that comes to mind when describing yourself?
blessed
5. Dresses, pants (jeans, leggings, etc.) or skirts?
I'm a jeans girl...but I like dresses every once in a while too
6. What is your favorite time of day?
My drive home from work usually
7. Beach or Mountains..which do you prefer?
Beach! I always tell Lee the only way I would ever move away from Alabama again is if we move to the beach :) We have family at the beach too, which makes it that much better
8.Will you watch the Super Bowl?
Of course. I don't care that much about pro football, but I LOVE the commercials!

I'm going to take a nap now and I hope I wake up feeling better. It's such good weather for a nap here today!

Sunday Funday

I thought I'd play along with the Getting to Know You on Keely's blog today. This is my first time, and I thought it would be fun :) Yall should play too! For everybody that links up today she's donating 25 cents to the Red Cross! Such an easy way to help out!

1. Hair color..Au naturale..or not?
Au naturale...I've had highlights a couple of times, but right now it's natural. I'll probably get red highlights again sometime soon

2. If somebody has food in their teeth or lipstick on their teeth do you tell them?
It depends on who it is...if it's someone I know well I'd tell them, but if not I probably wouldn't. I really should, though...I mean, I don't think it would offend anybody. I'm sure they'd appreciate it. I would.

3. Would you rather have a million dollars or your vision of the perfect body?
I'm gonna have to go with the money...there's a lot you could do with a million dollars to GET that perfect body :)

4. Favorite magazine?
Probably Real Simple...I got a $5 subscription from Amazon a few weeks ago and I'm anxiously awaiting my first one :)

5. Bra style..lacey or plain?
Lately it's been plain...I'm trying to stay on some sort of a budget so I haven't spent much on that kind of stuff lately

6. If you walked into Victoria's Secret..would you most likely come out with something sexy or comfy?
Honestly...comfy right now

7. Do you fake and bake?
Not currently...but my gym membership includes tanning beds so I'll probably hit that up in the next few months. I realized the other day just how pale I've gotten and it made me a little bit sad

8. What's your favorite body part on a man?
Arms...is that weird? I like nice arms :)

That was fun! I think I'll play again next week :) Now everybody else go to Keely's blog and play too!

Remember the Rose Bowl, We'll Win Then...

Roll on to victory, hit your stride! You're Dixie's football pride, Crimson Tide!

It's been a long 17 years, but my Crimson Tide finally brought the national championship back home. We've been through a lot as Alabama fans in the past few years, so it was actually kind of surreal when we actually won the game. We had so many bad years I had started thinking that we would never win another one.

I just really hate that Colt McCoy got hurt. I've liked him since he was a freshman, and as bad as I wanted Alabama to beat him, I hate that he didn't even really get to play in the game. He's such a good quarterback, and now nobody will ever know how the game would have been if he played.

That being said, I did take exception to his statement that they "had" us when he got hurt. I don't think you can "have" another team on your first offensive drive of the game, especially when the team gives you the ball at their 30 yard line and you're forced to kick a field goal. (Yes Colt, you were in for the first three downs and were going to kick it whether you got hurt or not) And I could go on about all the "what ifs" for days so I won't get started on that here. Regardless, I have a lot of respect for Colt...I think he's really a stand-up guy and I hope he does really well in the pros.

I just love The University of Alabama so much. I know the players and coaches worked so hard to get where they are and I couldn't be more proud to be a Bama fan right now. I just wish I could've been there. At least we got to go to the SEC Championship game.

Oh, and go read this article by Andy Staples. It's about Alabama, but I think you'll appreciate it whether you're a Bama fan or not. I read it at work today and it made me cry. Right there at my desk. Just sayin'
